The International Sensory Integration Congress (ISIC) is a regular congress sponsored by ICE-ASI. The congress aims to bring together practitioners and researchers with a focus on topics related to Sensory Integration from around the globe to share cutting-edge knowledge, highlight good practices, and encourage further development of Dr. Ayres’ Sensory Integration theory, practice, and the community around the world.
Each event is hosted by an SI organization from a different continent that is a full member of ICE-ASI. ICE-ASI as the holder of the ISIC series, co-organizes the conference with the host organization. ISIC content focuses on research, practice, and international development of Sensory Integration around the world. With the growing demand for ASI theory and practice, ISIC has been attracting an increasing range of participants each year.
ISIC aims to be an international, inclusive, and open event. The goal of the conference is to inform and inspire the participants who are interested in and working with Sensory Integration. These are ISIC's objectives:
§ To spread high-quality knowledge, expertise, and information on ASI.
§ To encourage the recognition of ASI as an efficient intervention.
§ To integrate the ASI approach into relevant policy sectors where Occupational Therapy plays an important role.
§ To raise awareness of ASI and contribute to increasing participation in the worldwide ASI community.
§ To seek involvement from all relevant stakeholders (universities/academia, decision makers, local, regional and national governments, media etc.).
